ASKA3D at CeBIT 2018 Exhibition Report (Germany, June 2018)

As part of our aerial imaging business operations, Asukanet Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Asukanet; head office: Hiroshima-shi, Hiroshima, President and CEO: Yukio Fukuda) participated in CeBIT 2018 (https://www.cebit.de/), a B2B exhibition for innovation and digitalization at Hannover Fairgrounds in Germany from June 12 (Tuesday) to 15 (Friday) of this year. This is a report from the event.
We would also like to announce that we have confirmed our participation in C-TOUCH & DISPLAY SHENZHEN 2018, held in the city of Shenzhen in China this November, and Finetech Japan, held at Makuhari Messe in Japan this December.

Our Participation Goals, Exhibit Information, and Overview of CeBIT 2018

We successfully created a plastic sample prototype of a plate for projecting aerial images (hereinafter referred to as "ASKA3D-Plate," formerly known as "AI Plate"). In June, we presented the prototype at the CeBIT 2018 exhibition in Germany.

In Germany and other European countries, the demand for non-contact touch panels is expected to grow in the automotive industry, aviation, medical equipment industry, and various other fields. We therefore wanted to present our non-contact operation panels with plastic ASKA3D-Plates and other technologies that can be applied in the automotive or medical equipment industry.

Most exhibition visitors stopped at our booth to try out the ASKA3D technology we were presenting. A lot of people seemed to take a strong interest in our aerial imaging technologies since we also received numerous questions and inquiries. The aerial images projected by our glass ASKA3D-Plate product received very positive reviews from advertisers and designers for their high quality. Our plastic ASKA3D-Plate, on the other hand, was mostly praised by manufacturers for its cost efficiency and applicability, even though its image quality is somewhere inferior to the glass product. All of the visitors seemed to agree that the reference price of the plastic model is competitive.

Some of the visitors also placed orders for a certain number of samples. In addition, we managed to build new connections with many potential customers who are considering integrating non-contact touch panels in their products in the future. Our goal is to continue providing assistance and advice in order to create new business opportunities.

Visitor opinions (excerpt)

  • "I think it's great you can operate the plate with your gloves on."
  • "I think non-contact operation of aerial images is very hygienic and therefore perfect for restaurants."
  • "These plates could be used to improve the production lines at the many factories in Germany."
  • "I want to use the plate in class as a teaching aid."
